A bizarre festival is held in the Cotswold Hills near Cheltenham every year which is known as the Cooper's Hill Cheese Rolling and Wake. This festival dates back to the 1800's and involves hordes of brave competitors chasing a huge 8lb Double Gloucester cheese wheel down a 90 meter hill. The winner of the competition whose prize is this highly coveted cheese wheel is the person who gets to the bottom first. Needless to say numerous competitors suffer injuries during this mindless dash to the bottom of the hill. This Cheese run is a highly anticipated annual event which takes place on the May Bank holiday weekend( usually the last Monday in May).

Adelaide is known for its lush Parklands, many cities in the world have iconic green spaces but Adelaide's green spaces encircle the city's city center and are made up of walking trails, cycle tracks, picnic areas, areas for sports like cricket, football, swimming, rowing and even horse racing. The Parklands of Adelaide are a legacy of the English colonists especially Colonel Light who laid out the plans for the city of Adelaide in 1837. These plans reserved 931 hectares of the city for Parklands which exist until today and host a variety of festivals like the Writers Week and the International Horse Trials which are held at various locations in these Parklands all throughout the year. .

Tucked between majestic Alpine peaks and the hilly terrain of the Jura, the French-speaking city of Geneva has been dubbed Switzerland's most international city. It is the European seat of the UNO and the headquarters of the Red Cross. In fact, the International Museum of the Red Cross houses the only museum dedicated to the history and work of this organization. Besides being popular as a congress city, Geneva is known for its culture and history. The "Horloge Fleuri," the large flower clock in the "Jardin Anglais" (English Garden), is a world-renowned symbol of the Geneva watch industry. .
